Postelsia Press

Books on the West Coast for the West Coast.

In 2005, Adrienne and Marion began to dream of a small press dedicated to making small, engaging, beautifully-crafted books that evoke the spirit of the place they love and call home. They dreamed up the name, had many cups of coffee, long lunches and great walks in the rain before finally — five years later — Postelsia Press was born.

Adrienne Mason is a writer, editor and biologist. She is the author of more than 25 books and writes for young and adult audiences. Her work is wide-ranging, from text books and scientific reports, to books for children on skunks, snakes and sharks, to local histories filled with stories of shipwrecks and ne'er-do-wells.

The first art Marion Syme put on her wall was a pencil crayon drawing of Eeyore. She's had a long, interesting journey since then with a stop as a student at the Emily Carr College of Art in Vancouver. Her love of the environment inspires her work as a graphic designer and fine artist.
